The story of 2 Good Steps begins in 2018, on the roads and trails of Switzerland. That year, Amir Kazemi, an Iranian athlete with a love for endurance and a belief in purpose, set himself an unusual challenge: to travel across the country, city by city, not by running or cycling, but by skipping rope the entire way.

For sixty days, with a rope in his hands and a cause in his heart, Amir moved through towns, villages, and mountain passes, skipping thousands of steps a day. Each city became a stage, each encounter a chance to explain why he was there. The journey wasn’t just about stamina — it was about shining a light on something bigger. Partnering with CARE International, Amir dedicated his project to raising awareness for their Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) program, which helps women in vulnerable communities build resilience through collective savings and small-scale entrepreneurship.

The sight of someone skipping rope through Switzerland turned heads, sparked conversations, and attracted media attention. Photos, interviews, and chance encounters all became part of the story, amplifying the message far beyond the roads he traveled. It was a living proof that sport, even in its simplest form, could be transformed into a tool for change.

Out of that journey came a seed of an idea — that every physical step could carry a second, greater step alongside it. The first step is for yourself: health, joy, perseverance. The second step is for others: awareness, solidarity, and hope. Together, they became 2 Good Steps.

And from that seed grew a purpose that guides us still today: to promote sports as a way to improve health and bring people together, and to channel that energy into building schools and supporting education for children in need. What began as sixty days with a skipping rope is now a continuing journey — proving that when movement meets meaning, every step has the power to change lives.
